Introduction
Priscilla Presley — Elvis Presley’s ex-wife — is seeking to contest her granddaughter’s inheritance following the death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.
On January 27, according to TMZ, Priscilla Presley filed a petition asking the court to review Lisa Marie’s trust, which was established in 2010. When her children were still young, Lisa Marie had entrusted her mother, along with manager Barry Siegel, with responsibility for the fund. However, Priscilla recently discovered that she and Siegel had been replaced by Riley and Benjamin Keough — Lisa Marie’s two children.
In her filing, Priscilla questioned the authenticity of the amendment to the trust. She stated that Lisa Marie had never informed her of such a decision. Moreover, Priscilla argued that the document may be fraudulent, as her name was misspelled and Lisa’s signature appeared inconsistent with her usual handwriting.
Priscilla has asked the court to invalidate the request removing both her and Barry Siegel. This has sparked a dispute between the former wife of the “King of Rock & Roll” and Riley Keough — Lisa Marie’s eldest daughter. Riley now holds sole control of the trust after her brother, Benjamin Keough, passed away in 2020.
Born in 1945, Priscilla Presley was Elvis’s only wife; the two married in 1967 and divorced in 1973. She gave birth to Lisa in 1968 — Elvis’s only child. After Elvis’s death, Priscilla managed and oversaw his estate until Lisa turned 21. Lisa Marie recently passed away at the age of 55 at a hospital near Calabasas, California, on the morning of January 12, after suffering cardiac arrest at her home.
