Introduction
Donny Osmond recently gave fans a delightful glimpse into his family life, posting a video on Monday of his grandchildren enjoying a summer day. The kids, who rarely appear on social media, were seen having a blast with the Donny-themed beach balls he uses in his Las Vegas shows.
In the clip, the legendary performer held two beach balls and explained, “For those of you who’ve seen my show in Las Vegas, you know exactly what I do onstage with these Donny beach balls. But at home, this is what we do with them.” His grandchildren then erupted in cheers as they ran from behind the camera and jumped into his backyard pool at his beautiful Provo, Utah home.
Donny began tossing more beach balls into the pool as the children splashed around. “Check it out! Check it out!” he laughed, adding to the fun. He then declared, “Oh, what the heck,” and jumped into the pool fully clothed, creating a moment his daughter-in-law, Melisa Osmond, celebrated in the comments, writing, “Ha ha!!! The kids loved it!! Partay!!!!” Fans also shared their joy, with one commenting, “You are such a fun grandpa. I bet they love being around you xx well done Donny.”
The 67-year-old singer is a devoted grandfather to the children of his five sons: Don Jr., Jeremy, Brandon, Christopher, and Joshua. He once told People magazine in 2023 that he plants a new fruit tree in his garden for each grandchild. “I have a garden. It’s my oasis. I call it a secret garden,” he said, explaining how much he enjoys taking his grandchildren to their specific tree to pick the fruit he grew for them.
Donny also expressed immense joy in seeing his children become parents, saying, “It’s such a wonderful, warm feeling to see your child become a parent… It’s such a great dynamic to see your children grow up to be parents. They graduate into that echelon of life just finding their own feet, finding their own wings.”
Despite his fame, Donny shared a humorous anecdote about his grandkids starting to understand his career. He recalled how they would be “wrestling with them on the ground” before a show, but would act a little differently afterward. “They just can’t quite put two and two together, that, ‘Grandpa was the one on stage and now he’s wrestling with me.’ It was kind of interesting,” he said, highlighting how they see him as a down-to-earth grandfather.
