The narrator spends night after night at a bar, numbing the pain of losing the love of his life while sitting under the comforting—but painfully symbolic—glow of a neon moon. A fresh rendition appeared again in 2024 on Reboot II, this time featuring Morgan Wallen, who honored the song’s legacy by keeping the arrangement nearly identical to the original. His version reached No. 24 on Hot Country Songs, introducing the track to a new generation.
